Overview:

Position: Director of Global Operations

As the Director of Global Operations, you will be responsible for enhancing and streamlining operational processes across Global Specialties. Your role will involve shaping the operational strategy and ensuring effective execution, fostering consistency and best practices throughout the organization. Your ability to navigate a complex matrix structure will be essential in collaborating with key stakeholders across various business functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with global colleagues, clients, and senior stakeholders, playing a pivotal role at a leading reinsurance firm.
  • Contribute to a successful business unit that is evolving its strategy in preparation for future growth.
  • Develop and implement operational plans and projects that align with established standards and regulatory frameworks, ensuring that tools, data, and processes meet both business and client requirements.
  • Ensure that operations within Global Specialties are equipped for current and future demands, allowing for adaptability to new working methods in response to client and market changes.
  • Build and maintain trust and relationships globally to ensure that new initiatives and processes are executed to a high standard.

Your Role Will Include:
  • Leading the Global Specialties Operations team, coordinating with the Global Operations Team to achieve operational objectives.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives, implementing process changes to support strategic goals, and enhancing quality and service delivery.
  • Establishing and monitoring consistent operational KPIs for Global Specialties, reporting results to key stakeholders.
  • Providing timely management information to identify and address operational challenges.
  • Ensuring the operational framework supports business growth effectively.
  • Fostering strong collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders, including Client Support Services, Finance, and Broking.
  • Ensuring best-in-class governance and controls in collaboration with wider stakeholders.
  • Implementing an internal quality assurance process and communicating common themes with actionable resolutions.
  • Continuing to enhance the operational excellence framework, ensuring compliance with professional standards.
  • Adhering to governance requirements for Global Specialties.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or regulated environments.
  • Proven experience in leading the development of new operating models.
  • Track record of driving process transformation and improvement at scale.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills, with a transformative mindset.
  • Experience in large, complex global organizations.
  • A strong desire to excel in a challenging and innovative environment.
