Position Overview
We are in search of a Compressor Engineer with a solid mechanical engineering foundation to become a part of our Reliability Unit (RU) within the Riyadh Refinery Department. The RU serves as a centralized engineering entity focused on addressing the technical requirements of our refinery operations. It plays a vital role in compressor monitoring, technical support, troubleshooting, and coordinating Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) initiatives.
Your main responsibilities will include providing technical assistance to our refinery operational plants, projects, and technology implementations. You will also be instrumental in mentoring junior Compressor Engineers and conducting specialized studies and analyses related to rotating equipment assets. Additionally, you will oversee our reliability programs and lead the development of monitoring initiatives aimed at improving equipment availability and reliability throughout the refinery.
This role necessitates a robust background in mechanical engineering, particularly concerning compressor systems, along with the capability to drive continuous improvement efforts that enhance operational efficiency and reliability within the refinery environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical guidance, support, training, and expertise to plant departments.
- Evaluate plant operations, maintenance, and engineering concerning rotating equipment and compressor systems, recommending improvements and optimization strategies.
- Develop and sustain lifecycle management activities for rotating equipment and compressor systems.
- Coordinate Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) for rotating equipment and compressor systems.
- Ensure that manufacturing knowledge is documented and that continuous improvement is achieved through benchmarking and enhancing practices across operating facilities.
- Provide leadership and support for rotating equipment and compressor systems across operational facilities.
- Offer engineering expertise and consulting on plant rotating equipment and compressor systems.
- Conduct comprehensive failure analyses and provide recommendations, participating in major equipment failure investigation teams.
- Collect and analyze critical operating parameters from DCS, PI systems, and operator checklists, suggesting corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed technical scopes for significant equipment overhauls.
- Maintain and execute installation, configuration, and upgrade procedures.
- Lead or assist in plant outages, shutdowns, and troubleshooting efforts.
- Perform system testing and health monitoring utilizing system logs for troubleshooting.
- Create and implement innovative strategies to enhance productivity and support startup and maintenance activities.
- Review Engineering Design Change (EDC) new and upgrade project packages, providing feedback.
- Establish and maintain an asset fault analysis database, ensuring the completeness of data, drawings, and information while updating all modifications.
Requirements:
- Willingness to relocate.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in rotating equipment within a refinery or the petrochemical industry.
- Comprehensive knowledge of best engineering practices and a solid background in industry codes and standards.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as System1, CCC, or Vibration CSI.
