The Corporate segment provides essential support services such as human resources, finance, and information technology.
Position Summary:
We are in search of a Compressor Engineer with a robust mechanical engineering background to join our Reliability Unit (RU) within the Riyadh Refinery Department. The RU serves as a centralized engineering unit that addresses the technical requirements of our refinery operations. It plays a crucial role in compressor monitoring, providing technical assistance, troubleshooting, and coordinating Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities.
Your main responsibilities will include delivering technical support to our refinery operations, projects, and technology implementations. You will also be instrumental in mentoring junior Compressor Engineers and conducting specialized studies and analyses focused on rotating equipment assets. Additionally, you will oversee our reliability programs and lead the development of monitoring initiatives aimed at improving equipment availability and reliability throughout the refinery.
This role demands a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, particularly concerning compressor systems, along with the capability to drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and reliability within the refinery setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical guidance, support, and training to plant departments.
- Evaluate plant operations, maintenance, and engineering for rotating equipment and compressor systems, recommending enhancements and optimizations.
- Develop and manage lifecycle activities for rotating equipment and compressor systems.
- Coordinate Predictive Maintenance (PdM) and Preventive Maintenance (PM) for rotating equipment and compressor systems.
- Ensure the capture of manufacturing knowledge and the achievement of continuous improvement through benchmarking and enhancing practices across facilities.
- Offer leadership and support for rotating equipment and compressor systems across various facilities.
- Provide engineering expertise and consulting services on plant rotating equipment and compressor systems.
- Conduct comprehensive failure analyses and provide recommendations, participating in major equipment failure investigation teams.
- Collect and analyze critical operating parameters from DCS, PI systems, and operator checklists, recommending corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed technical scopes for significant equipment overhauls.
- Maintain and execute installation, configuration, and upgrade procedures.
- Lead or assist in plant outages, shutdowns, and troubleshooting activities.
- Perform system testing and health monitoring utilizing system logs for troubleshooting.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to enhance productivity and support startup and maintenance activities.
- Review Engineering Design Change (EDC) and new project packages, providing constructive feedback.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive asset fault analysis database, ensuring the completeness of data, drawings, and information, and updating all modifications.
Qualifications:
- Willingness to relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in rotating equipment within a refinery or petrochemical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of best engineering practices and solid industry codes and standards.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as System1, CCC, or Vibration CSI.
