Job Title: Family Support Worker - Croydon

We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Family Support Worker to join our team at Swan Family Centres Limited in Croydon. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering a crucial service to families, providing a safe and supportive environment for children and their birth families to spend quality time together.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and supervising family time between children and their birth families at contact centres and in the community.
  • Completing detailed recordings of observations during sessions and liaising with social workers to escalate any concerns.
  • Transporting and escorting children and young people as required.
  • Observing and supervising contact between children, young persons, and parents, including other family members.
  • Risk managing and intervening as necessary to safeguard children.
  • Writing clear and concise reports of observations within agreed timeframes.
  • Attending planning meetings and reviews as required.
  • Following safeguarding procedures at all times and reporting any concerns promptly.

Requirements:

  • NVQ level 3 in children and young people workforce or related fields.
  • A current DBS for working with adults and children.

Desirable Requirements:

  • A driving licence and access to a car.

We are looking for a candidate who is empathetic, has good communication skills, and is non-judgmental in their practices. This role is ideal for social work students or those looking to pursue a career in social care.

Working Hours:

  • 8 hour shifts.
  • Day shifts.
  • Every weekend.
  • Monday to Friday.
  • Overtime.
