Family Support Worker

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Family Support Worker to join our team at Social Personnel. The successful candidate will have a strong background in working with children and families, with a focus on safeguarding and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safeguarding and support to families, ensuring the well-being and safety of children.
  • Carry a caseload and effectively manage workload with available resources.
  • Offer support, assistance, and coaching to families or single clients who are homeless, covering areas such as welfare and housing benefits, tax credits, debt counselling, housing options, employment and training opportunities, and provision of support services or long-term accommodation options.
  • Motivate clients to take action to improve their situation and life chances.
  • Support clients in a way that is outcome-focused, motivating, enthusing, and building individual talents towards successful independent living.
  • Develop and review solution-focused and person-centred action/support plans with both short and long-term aims as required to meet the needs of the customer.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with children and their families in regard to safeguarding and support.
  • Understanding of child development, systemic model, risks in relation to child protection, and experience of direct work with children.
  • Ability to provide parenting advice and support.
