We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Family Support Worker to join our dynamic team at Swan Family Centres Limited. As a Family Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in delivering a vital service to families in our Croydon Children and Family Contact Centre.
Your key responsibilities will include coordinating and supervising family time between children and their birth families at contact centres and in the community. You will also be responsible for observing and supervising contact between children, young persons, and parents, including other family members, and intervening as necessary to safeguard children.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a Level 3 qualification in the children and young people workforce or a related field, and a current DBS for working with adults and children. A driving licence and access to a car are desirable but not essential.
We are looking for someone who is non-judgmental, has good communication skills, and is able to understand the importance of child-centred services. This role is ideal for social work students or those looking to pursue a career in social care.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinating and supervising family time between children and their birth families at contact centres and in the community
- Observing and supervising contact between children, young persons, and parents, including other family members
- Intervening as necessary to safeguard children
- Completing detailed recordings of observations and liaising with social workers as required
- Attending and participating in planning meetings or reviews as required
- Level 3 qualification in the children and young people workforce or a related field
- Current DBS for working with adults and children
- Desirable: driving licence and access to a car
- Competitive hourly rate of £13.15
