About the Library Services Team

The Library Services team is dedicated to providing outstanding learning environments and exceptional support to students, fostering a sense of community at the University. Our responsibilities encompass service delivery including access management, lending and returning of materials, inquiry assistance, and the oversight and enhancement of library facilities across the campus.

We prioritize every interaction: ensuring accurate information is provided, connecting students to various services, and seeking optimal solutions to challenges. Our team is committed to building relationships with our users, nurturing an inclusive library atmosphere where students feel comfortable and supported. We strive to guarantee that all students enjoy a positive, dynamic, and engaging experience whenever they utilize our services.

Role Responsibilities

We are in search of an outstanding candidate who possesses the skills and personal qualities necessary to deliver exceptional customer service as part of the Library Services Team. As an Information Support Assistant, your duties will include:

  • Addressing inquiries related to space reservations, access to print and digital resources, and the lending and returning of library equipment, while guiding users to additional services and resources offered by the University.
  • Advocating library services and programs to users and assisting with outreach and engagement initiatives.
  • Actively engaging with users to cultivate a library community where students can express themselves and feel supported.
  • Monitoring the utilization of library spaces and services, addressing any challenging behavior in accordance with library policies and procedures.

You will be expected to:

  • Assist students in their educational journey and positively impact their experience at the University.
  • Foster relationships with students, anticipating and fulfilling their needs, even when they may not be clearly articulated.
  • Exhibit confidence in managing challenging behavior, including but not limited to inappropriate language and non-compliance with library policies.
  • Adapt to new systems and skills as our services continually evolve.
