Position Overview

As a Trauma Support Specialist, you will become an integral part of a dedicated team at Day One Trauma Support, committed to enhancing the recovery journey of individuals affected by severe injuries. Collaborating closely with Trauma and Rehabilitation Coordinators, you will provide immediate, on-site assistance to address the challenges faced by those impacted by major trauma.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage collaboratively with healthcare professionals and community organizations to meet the needs of patients and their families affected by significant injuries.
  • Utilize a case management framework to evaluate individual needs, implement support strategies, and facilitate necessary referrals.
  • Ensure uniformity in patient assessments, regardless of the nature of the injury, while providing access to essential legal guidance that supports recovery and financial accountability.
  • Maintain comprehensive case documentation, accurately recording all interactions and interventions in accordance with organizational policies and regulatory standards.
  • Establish feedback mechanisms from patients and families to contribute to the continuous improvement of services through relevant data and case studies.
  • Deliver educational presentations to clinical teams and departments to raise awareness of available support services.
  • Coordinate and manage outpatient legal consultation sessions to assist individuals in navigating their recovery.
  • Promote the mission and services of Day One within the broader healthcare community, fostering strong relationships across the trauma network.
