Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Principal Physicist to join our Radiation Safety and Diagnostic Radiology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support in the areas of radiation safety and diagnostic radiology physics.
Main Responsibilities
- Act as a Medical Physics Expert in Diagnostic Radiology, providing radiation safety advice and services to the Trust and other organizations.
- Manage and supervise staff, ensuring the provision of high-quality radiation safety and diagnostic radiology physics services.
- Develop and implement protocols for assessment of new CT technology, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
- Train physics staff in CT performance evaluation, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
- Work closely with the CDC management team to establish a governance and quality assurance structure for radiation safety and diagnostic radiology physics.
Requirements
- Experience in CT optimization and evaluation, with a strong understanding of radiation protection legislation in healthcare and biomedical research.
- Specialist knowledge of radiation and imaging physics as applied in medicine, with a strong understanding of patient dosimetry techniques and software.
- HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist, with a Certificated MPE qualification.
- Ability to analyze complex data, interpret and apply relevant guidance and legislation, and communicate effectively with staff at all levels.
