About the Role:

Barts Health NHS Trust is a leading healthcare provider in East London, renowned for its commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Health Physicist to join our team as a Medical Physics Expert in Diagnostic Radiology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the lead Medical Physics Expert for the Mile End Community Diagnostic Centre and the cross-site Trust Lead MPE for CT
  • Provide radiation safety advice and services for all uses of ionising radiation in the Trust
  • Assist with the management and provision of radiation safety advice and services for diagnostic radiology physics support to the Trust and other organisations
  • Work with the CDC management team to ensure a governance and quality assurance structure for radiation safety and diagnostic radiology physics is in place
  • Train physics staff in CT performance evaluation

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Medical Physics Expert in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Experience of providing radiation safety advice in radiology
  • Able to analyse complex data
  • Specialist knowledge (MPE level) in radiation and imaging physics as applied in medicine
  • Specialist knowledge of radiation protection legislation in healthcare and biomedical research
  • Knowledge of patient dosimetry techniques and software
  • BSc (Hons) Physics or equivalent
  • MSc in Radiation Physics or equivalent experience
