Senior Radiotherapy Physicist

A new position is available within the Radiotherapy Physics department at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust for a highly skilled Radiotherapy Physicist. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in radiation dosimetry, treatment unit technology, and treatment planning systems, with the ability to act as a Medical Physics Expert in these areas.
Main Responsibilities- Participate in the routine support of the radiotherapy physics service, including the maintenance and calibration of equipment.
- Oversee and maintain a specific part of the physics service, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with the radiotherapy team to develop and implement new treatment techniques and protocols.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of quality assurance programs for radiotherapy equipment and procedures.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues on radiation dosimetry, treatment planning, and equipment operation.
- Hold a relevant MSc or higher degree or equivalent level of knowledge.
- Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Scientist.
- Be certified as a Medical Physics Expert on the national register or be in the process of applying.
- Have a strong understanding of radiation dosimetry, treatment unit technology, and treatment planning systems.
- Have experience with linear accelerators, treatment planning systems, and dosimetry equipment.
- Be able to communicate complex information to other healthcare professionals and equipment manufacturers.
- Be able to exercise initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
