Job Summary

A new opportunity has arisen within the Radiotherapy Physics service at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust for a highly skilled Radiotherapy Physicist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to the radiotherapy team, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiotherapy treatments.

Main Responsibilities
  • Participate in the routine support of the radiotherapy physics service, including the maintenance and calibration of radiotherapy equipment.
  • Oversee and maintain specific parts of the physics service, ensuring compliance with national standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the radiotherapy team to develop and implement new treatment plans and protocols.
  • Provide expert advice and support to patients and staff on radiotherapy-related issues.

Requirements
  • HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist.
  • Certified Medical Physics Expert on national register or application in progress.
  • Relevant MSc or higher degree or equivalent level of knowledge.
  • Highly developed specialist theoretical and practical knowledge of radiation dosimetry, treatment unit technology, treatment planning systems, and computer systems in radiotherapy.
  • Advanced knowledge of patient and machine dosimetry and quality assurance in radiotherapy.
