About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiotherapy Physicist to join our team at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. As a Radiotherapy Physicist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiotherapy treatments to our patients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in the routine support for the radiotherapy physics service, including the maintenance and calibration of radiotherapy equipment.
  • Oversee and maintain a specific part of the physics service, including the development and implementation of new treatment techniques and protocols.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and effective delivery of radiotherapy treatments.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality assurance programs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of radiotherapy treatments.

Requirements

  • Hold a relevant degree in physics or a related field, and have relevant postgraduate qualifications or experience.
  • Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical Scientist.
  • Have a strong understanding of radiation dosimetry, treatment unit technology, treatment planning systems, and computer systems in radiotherapy.
  • Have experience of working in a radiotherapy department, including the maintenance and calibration of radiotherapy equipment.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
