Job Summary
The Medical Physics Department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Safety Physicist to join our team. As a key member of our Radiation Safety Section, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality, safety, and effectiveness of radiation use in healthcare.
Main Responsibilities
- Carry out X-ray status testing on a full range of X-ray imaging systems, including CT scanners and mammography X-ray systems.
- Support the quality assurance and optimization of diagnostic radiology systems.
- Participate in multidisciplinary optimization working groups and contribute to the development of procedures for utilizing dose management systems.
- Assist in preparing dose reports for ethics submissions and provide scientific support to nuclear medicine and radiotherapy.
- Participate in research and development work, including presenting at meetings and publishing in peer-reviewed journals.

Person Specification
- Current state registration as a Clinical Scientist in the UK.
- Good Honours degree in a relevant subject.
- Relevant MSc or higher degree.
- Basic knowledge across a range of medical X-ray imaging system status testing.
- Experience of testing and optimizing for patient use advanced X-ray imaging systems.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, national standards, professional, and other guidelines.
