Underwriting Specialist

The Underwriter Level 1 position at Munich Re Specialty Group is a key role in our team, responsible for handling end-to-end cases for allocated portfolios to deliver joint business development plans in line with our overall trading strategy.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with intermediaries and customers to deliver efficient case handling and meet customer service targets.
- Make informed decisions within delegated authority to ensure work is completed efficiently and effectively.
- Develop strong relationships with allocated intermediaries, balancing their needs with our trading objectives to drive profitable and balanced trading growth.
- Plan and process work to assist the team in meeting customer service and credit control targets.
- Identify and close business opportunities, seeking input from other staff members as needed, to secure business for the company.
- Act as a reference point for allocated intermediaries, customers, or less experienced staff to deliver a high level of customer service.
- Maintain a balanced and high-quality portfolio, optimizing the use of gathered information.
- High level of underwriting knowledge and understanding of technical underwriting principles.
- Ability to interpret and effectively use management information to inform decision-making.
- Knowledge of the local market and external relationships with allocated intermediaries and customers.
