Apprentice Mechanical Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Proftech Talent. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily/Weekly/Monthly Inspections and Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal performance of our mechanical equipment.
- Breakdown Response: Respond promptly to breakdowns and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
- Inventory Management: Report parts used from stock to maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Analysis and Improvement: Assist in the analysis of breakdowns, suggest corrective actions, and implement improvements to prevent future issues.
- Equipment Installation and Modification: Install new equipment and modify existing systems to meet regulatory requirements.
- Training and Development: Assist in training apprentices and contribute to the development of our maintenance team.
- Overtime and Call-Outs: Work a reasonable amount of overtime and participate in call-out cover as needed.
Requirements:
- Qualifications: C+G part 3 or ONC/IHNC, time served (apprenticeship), and good competency with hydraulic & pneumatic drawings/fault finding.
- Experience: Experience with motors & drives, gear motors, reduction gearboxes, overhead cranes, and ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Teamwork and Adaptability: Happy to work as part of a team or solo, with a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
Bonus Experience/Qualifications:
- Foundry Experience: Previous foundry experience, banksman training/certificate, forklift truck/access equipment training, and ability to use lathe, milling machine, grinders, etc.
