Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shift Leader to join our team at Mercure Hotel Bloomsbury. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the front desk, ensuring seamless operations and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Front Desk Operations: Manage the front desk team, oversee check-in and check-out processes, and ensure accurate room assignments.
  • Training and Development: Provide guidance and support to reception staff, focusing on improving their skills and knowledge to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Reservations and Cashiering: Handle reservations, manage cash handling, and maintain accurate records.
  • Shift Reports and Communication: Prepare and submit shift reports, maintain open communication with the Rooms Division Manager, and ensure effective collaboration with other departments.
  • Complaint Handling and Guest Services: Respond to guest complaints, resolve issues promptly, and provide exceptional guest services.
  • Accor Brand Standards and Hotel Operations: Ensure compliance with Accor Brand Standards and maintain a good working knowledge of Hotel Operating system Opera.
  • Team Support and Collaboration: Assist the Rooms Division Manager in running the front desk, provide support to other departments as needed, and contribute to a positive and productive team environment.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 12 months as a Hotel Receptionist.
  • Skills: Good working knowledge of Hotel Operating system Opera, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions
  • Work Schedule: 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with weekend availability.
  • Pay and Benefits: Competitive hourly rate of £13.50, plus commission pay.
