About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Practice Nurse to join our team at Bowland Medical Practice. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform chronic disease management reviews and provide education to patients
  • Facilitate investigations such as venepuncture, spirometry, and 12-lead ECGs
  • Perform cervical cytology screening and routine immunisations
  • Participate in activities to promote healthy lifestyles and improve uptake of screening services
  • Administer intramuscular injections such as B12 or depot contraceptive
  • Conduct contraception and HRT reviews and maintain accurate medical records
  • Order and maintain practice stock of medical equipment
  • Attend and participate in practice meetings and Primary Care team meetings
  • Participate in quality improvement work and facilitate teaching and training of staff
  • Complete annual performance review and participate in continuing professional development activities

Person Specification

  • Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration
  • Experience of working within a nursing team and in a GP practice
  • Completion of cervical cytology smear taker course and relevant diploma or qualification in practice nursing
  • Driving licence and understanding of clinical governance and QoF
