Practice Nurse Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Practice Nurse to join our dynamic team at Bowland Medical Practice. As a key member of our nursing team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform chronic disease management reviews and facilitate investigations such as venepuncture, spirometry, and 12-lead ECGs.
- Conduct cervical cytology screening, routine immunisations, and childhood immunisations.
- Participate in activities to promote healthy lifestyles and improve uptake of screening services.
- Administer intramuscular injections, such as B12 or depot contraceptive.
- Maintain accurate medical records and order practice stock of medical equipment.
- Attend and participate in practice meetings and Primary Care team meetings.
- Participate in quality improvement work, facilitate teaching and training of staff, and complete annual performance review.
- Complete home visits where appropriate and chaperone and assist in minor surgery and contraceptive services.
Person Specification
- Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Desirable qualifications include completion of cervical cytology smear taker course, relevant diploma or qualification in practice nursing, and driving licence.
- Essential experience includes working within a nursing team, with desirable experience in a GP practice, using EMIS, chronic disease management, understanding of clinical governance, QoF, and long-term condition management.
