About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Practice Nurse to join our dynamic team at Bowland Medical Practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients, including chronic disease management, preventative care, and patient education.
  • Assist medical personnel in the care of practice patients, including treatment, screening, and minor surgery.
  • Perform routine immunisations, childhood immunisations, and participate in activities to promote healthy lifestyles.
  • Administer intramuscular injections, such as B12 or depot contraceptive, and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Order and maintain practice stock of medical equipment, attend and participate in practice meetings, and participate in quality improvement work.
  • Facilitate teaching and training of staff, participate in continuing professional development activities, and complete annual performance reviews.

Person Specification

  • Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Completion of cervical cytology smear taker course, relevant diploma or qualification in practice nursing, and driving licence.
  • Experience of working within a nursing team, preferably in a GP practice, with experience of using EMIS and chronic disease management.
