About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing routine and chronic disease management reviews
  • Facilitating investigations such as venepuncture, spirometry, and 12-lead ECGs
  • Performing cervical cytology screening and routine immunisations
  • Participating in activities to promote healthy lifestyles and improve uptake of screening services
  • Administering intramuscular injections and maintaining accurate medical records
  • Ordering and maintaining practice stock of medical equipment
  • Attending and participating in practice meetings and Primary Care team meetings
  • Participating in quality improvement work and facilitating teaching and training of staff
  • Completing annual performance reviews and participating in continuing professional development activities
Person Specification:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Current NMC registration as a Registered General Nurse
  • Experience of working within a nursing team and preferably in a GP practice
  • Relevant diploma or qualification in practice nursing and/or completion of cervical cytology smear taker course
  • Driving licence and ability to travel to patients' homes when necessary
