Nurse Practitioner Opportunity at Bowland Medical Practice

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered General Nurse to join our team at Bowland Medical Practice. As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our practice.
Main Responsibilities- Perform chronic disease management reviews to ensure patients receive optimal care.
- Facilitate investigations such as venepuncture, spirometry, and 12-lead ECGs to aid in diagnosis and treatment.
- Perform cervical cytology screening to promote women's health and well-being.
- Administer routine and childhood immunizations to protect patients from infectious diseases.
- Participate in activities to promote healthy lifestyles and improve patient outcomes.
- Improve uptake of screening services to ensure patients receive necessary care.
- Administer intramuscular injections, such as B12 or depot contraceptive, as prescribed.
- Conduct contraception and HRT reviews to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.
- Order and maintain practice stock of medical equipment to ensure optimal patient care.
- Attend and participate in practice meetings and Primary Care team meetings to stay informed and contribute to decision-making.
- Participate in quality improvement work to enhance patient care and practice operations.
- Facilitate teaching and training of staff to promote knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Participate in continuing professional development activities to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field.
- Complete annual performance review to ensure ongoing growth and development.
- Complete home visits as necessary to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Chaperone and assist in minor surgery and contraceptive services, including IUD/implant insertion.
- Registered General Nurse with current NMC registration.
- Completion of cervical cytology smear taker course (desirable).
- Relevant diploma or qualification in practice nursing (desirable).
- Driving license (desirable).
- Experience of working within a nursing team.
- Experience of working in a GP practice (desirable).
- Experience of using EMIS (desirable).
- Chronic disease management experience (desirable).
- Understanding of clinical governance (desirable).
- Understanding of QoF (desirable).
- Long-term condition management experience (desirable).
- Vaccination and immunization experience (desirable).
