Position Overview

CLIMATE 17 is a progressive consultancy firm dedicated to addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges in emerging markets. We partner with global financial institutions to navigate complex landscapes and mitigate ESG risks effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement comprehensive ESG systems tailored to diverse project needs.
  • Enhance ESG capacity through targeted training and support initiatives.
  • Manage ESG risks associated with large-scale developments, ensuring compliance with international standards.
  • Lead innovative projects focused on community investment and reforestation efforts.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in managing ESG risks and opportunities within international frameworks. This role is suited for a proactive individual capable of contributing to both project execution and business growth.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, biological, biophysical, or social sciences; a postgraduate degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, adept at understanding technical and project specifications.
  • Proficient in biodiversity management, including action plans and monitoring services.
  • Familiarity with Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental Due Diligence (ESDD) studies.
  • Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles, with practical application in biodiversity projects.
  • Ability to support corporations in formulating biodiversity and nature-positive strategies.
  • Experience working within international and local regulatory frameworks.
  • Collaborative approach to working with other consultants and junior team members.
  • Strong project management skills, including budget oversight and scheduling.
