Position Overview

CLIMATE 17 is a progressive consultancy firm that is rapidly expanding its footprint in emerging markets. We partner with global financial institutions to navigate and mitigate Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) risks in complex settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement ESG frameworks tailored to specific projects.
  • Enhance ESG capabilities through targeted training and support.
  • Oversee ESG risk management for high-value development initiatives.
  • Contribute to innovative community investment strategies and large-scale reforestation initiatives.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in identifying and addressing ESG risks and opportunities within international contexts. This role is suited for a proactive individual capable of driving both project execution and business growth.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, biological, biophysical, or social sciences; a postgraduate degree is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience in client-facing roles, effectively communicating technical and project specifications.
  • Proficiency in biodiversity management, including action plans and monitoring services.
  • Experience conducting Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental Due Diligence (ESDD), along with report generation.
  • Familiarity with IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles, applying these frameworks to relevant projects.
  • Support corporations in crafting biodiversity and nature-positive strategies.
  • Knowledge of international and local environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with other consultants and provide mentorship to junior team members.
  • Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Manage project budgets and timelines effectively.
