Position Overview

CLIMATE 17 is a rapidly expanding consultancy firm specializing in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) solutions in emerging markets. We work closely with global financial institutions to navigate and address ESG challenges in complex settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Delivery: Oversee the execution of projects focused on the development of ESG frameworks and capacity building.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate ESG risks associated with large-scale developments and initiatives.
  • Community Engagement: Design and implement community investment strategies and support significant reforestation efforts.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in environmental, biological, biophysical, or social sciences (post-graduate qualifications are advantageous).
  • Experience in client-facing roles, effectively communicating technical and project needs.
  • Expertise in biodiversity management, including action plans and monitoring services.
  • Familiarity with Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) studies.
  • Knowledge of IFC Performance Standards and the Equator Principles, applying these in biodiversity and ESG projects.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including contractors and junior consultants, ensuring project requirements are fulfilled.
  • Strong project management skills, including budget and schedule oversight.
