A reputable logistics company is seeking a Graduate Systems Application Analyst to join their dynamic team. This organization has a strong track record of nurturing talent within their IT department, and they are eager to welcome a new member.

A significant project is on the horizon, involving the modernization of systems over the next 18 months. This will include both system upgrades and the initiation of new projects in collaboration with clients.

This position is designed for recent graduates who have completed an IT-related degree with a minimum of a 2:1 classification. Candidates with some relevant experience are also encouraged to apply, as the company values professional development and is committed to helping you enhance your skills.

In your daily responsibilities, you will be part of the support team, primarily handling second-line support tasks for both internal and external clients. Your role will involve managing support tickets and resolving issues effectively, with guidance from senior team members.

You will engage with various applications and tools, assisting in the identification, development, and testing of logistics systems. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain hands-on experience in IT operations and learn about diverse business practices in the field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide second-line support for logistics systems.
  • Acquire knowledge of the company’s business and technical applications.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements for modifications.
  • Develop and maintain Unix Shell scripts.
  • Integrate both internal and external systems.
  • Generate reports on logistics systems for stakeholders and document changes according to company standards.

Essential Qualifications:

  • IT graduate with a minimum of a 2:1 classification.
  • Familiarity with databases (Oracle or SQL).
  • Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux and some experience with Shell scripting.
  • Understanding of logistics systems, with some experience in systems analysis and application support.
  • Experience with report writing tools such as iReports or Jaspersoft Studio.
  • Strong communication skills, along with experience in a customer-facing technical support environment.
  • Full UK Driver's license is essential for occasional site visits.
