Position Overview

We are currently looking for a Senior Hydrologist to enhance our capabilities as we expand our operations. This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly skilled and diverse team of professionals who value innovation and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive hydrological evaluations, including assessments of flood risks, water resources, and drought scenarios.
  • Perform hydrological modeling and analysis to aid in the development of conceptual site models and risk evaluations.
  • Draft technical documentation, proposals, and reports for both clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities.
  • Collaborate with senior team members on project management and provide technical direction.
  • Offer mentorship and technical support to junior colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A postgraduate degree in Catchment Management, Hydrology, Geomorphology, Geography, Environmental Science, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant practical and technical experience.
  • Proficiency in hydrological calculations utilizing ReFH2 and WINFAP.
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, and HEC-RAS.
  • Familiarity with Grapher, GIS, and/or AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of UK planning regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information to non-specialists.
  • Demonstrated team and project management abilities appropriate to experience level.
  • A valid full UK driving license.

Compensation and Benefits
  • A competitive salary range of £30,000 to £40,000, with potential for negotiation based on experience.
  • Permanent employment with a standard 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday.
