Senior Hydrology Technical Director

RPS, a Tetra Tech Company, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Hydrology Technical Director to lead our dedicated hydrology team across Edinburgh and Leeds. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to contribute to complex projects and shape sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the hydrology teams in both locations, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Spearhead the development of comprehensive drainage strategies, encompassing all phases from conceptual design through detailed implementation.
  • Leverage your expertise in water quality management, sewage systems, and permitting processes to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Local Planning Authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities, and Water Companies, effectively communicating technical information and project updates.
  • Conduct thorough site inspections and undertake other essential technical tasks to support project delivery.
  • Play a vital role in preparing flood risk assessments and environmental statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to business development efforts by supporting bid preparation, client meetings, and the pursuit of new opportunities.
  • Mentor junior staff members, sharing your knowledge and expertise to foster their professional growth and development within the team.
