About the Role

The HALO Trust is seeking a highly skilled Global Finance Officer to join our Finance team at our HQ in Thornhill, Dumfries. As a key member of the team, you will support the Global Grants Manager in ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance for a portfolio of global grants and donors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate financial donor reports and fund requests.
  • Collaborate with the Global Grants Manager to develop donor budgets utilizing HALO's financial planning system (Adaptive Insights).
  • Design and implement efficient systems, tools, and processes to ensure HALO's budgeting and forecasting process operates effectively.
  • Monitor and review grants/contracts, working closely with colleagues to forecast and report on project costs to completion.
  • Ensure compliance against overseas statutory regulations, including company registration, financial reporting, and taxation.
  • Conduct desk and field-based audits to ensure compliance against donor regulations and HALO financial and logistics standard operating procedures.
  • Prepare transactional reports/documentation for grant/contract audits, liaising with external auditors/country teams as necessary.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years' experience in a finance role.
  • Proficiency in Excel to manipulate and analyze data.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel to HALO programs.
