Based in Dumfries, Southwest Scotland, Gates (U.K.) Ltd is a major international company specialising in the production of power transmission belts for the automotive and industrial markets. Our continuing success has resulted in this exciting opportunity based in our Dumfries Plant.
**WHAT TO EXPECT**
As an innovation leader, we are looking for an ambitious, forward-thinking, open-minded and well-rounded individual to join our team. **Working full-time from our Dumfries office**, you will be the Procurement Coordinator within our Materials Flow department.
Reporting to the Materials Flow Manager this person will be the first point of contact for all internal and external queries on all Procurement related matters. The core function of the position is to ensure that all Purchase Orders are processed for all Direct and Indirect Materials for all areas of the Dumfries site, ensuring that all arrangements are concluded within the business planning and Control System Purchasing Module.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Manage the Purchase orders and Forecasts for all Tier 1 suppliers
- Ensure Raw Material Inventories remain within business targets
- Facilitate all internal and external stock take requirements
- Engage with Gates Global Commodity Management Team
- Build relationships with key indirect Suppliers
- Identify and drive any potential Cost savings Projects
- Work towards Subject Matter expert level within our SAP Project Team
**ABOUT YOU**
**Required Experience**:
- Educated to HND level or equivalent in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Membership in Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply.
- At least 3 years' experience in procurement or purchasing role, preferably in Manufacturing industry.
**Required Skills**:
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
