Senior Technical Animator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Animator to join our team at Rebellion. As a key member of our animation team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our animation pipeline, ensuring that our games are of the highest quality and meet the expectations of our players.
Key Responsibilities- Animation Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain clear documentation on tools, methods, training, and processes along the animation pipeline.
- Character Creation: Provide detailed input during the character creation process, from initial concept to final rigging, identifying character performance and functionality requirements.
- Research and Development: Research new technologies and innovations to advance animation efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaboration and Communication: Be an effective communicator with code, design, art, and animation teams to help deliver both performant and engaging game experiences.
- Quality Assurance: Verify the quality of work and make improvements where necessary to fit technical constraints and artistic direction.
- Mentorship and Team Leadership: Be an active mentor and role model for your team, working to maintain morale and create an atmosphere of creativity and enthusiasm.
- Anatomy and Body Mechanics: Knowledgeable of anatomy and body mechanics.
- 3D Software Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of 3D software such as Maya, Motion Builder, and/or Blender, with a technical focus on rigging and skinning.
- Rigging and Skinning: Experience creating body, facial, and prop rigs.
- Motion Capture: Excellent knowledge of motion capture.
- Scripting and Programming: Knowledgeable of writing tools with MEL and Python.
- Production Pipelines: Good knowledge of production pipelines.
- Video Game Development: An advanced knowledge of the video game development process.
- 3D Math: An understanding of 3D math (linear algebra, vector, and matrix math).
- Tool Development: Experience creating tools with Python is a plus.
- Complex System Development: Ability to create complex systems and drive them with vectors is a big plus.
