Technical Animation Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Technical Animator to join our team at Rebellion. As a key member of our animation team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our animation pipeline, ensuring that our games are of the highest quality and meet the expectations of our players.
Key Responsibilities- Animation Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain clear documentation on tools, methods, training, and processes to ensure efficient and effective animation production.
- Character Creation: Provide detailed input during the character creation process, from initial concept to final rigging, identifying character performance and functionality requirements.
- Research and Development: Research new technologies and innovations to advance animation efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with code, design, art, and animation teams to deliver high-quality game experiences.
- Quality Assurance: Verify the quality of work and make improvements where necessary to fit technical constraints and artistic direction.
- Mentorship and Team Leadership: Act as an active mentor and role model for your team, promoting a culture of creativity, enthusiasm, and excellence.
- Knowledge of Anatomy and Body Mechanics: Possess a strong understanding of human anatomy and body mechanics.
- 3D Software Proficiency: Excellent knowledge of 3D software such as Maya, Motion Builder, and/or Blender, with a technical focus on rigging and skinning.
- Experience with Motion Capture: Experience creating body, facial, and prop rigs, as well as knowledge of motion capture technology.
- Programming Skills: Knowledgeable of writing tools with MEL and Python, with experience creating tools UI with Maya commands, or/and QT/Pyside.
- Production Pipeline Knowledge: Good knowledge of production pipelines and the video game development process.
- Mathematical Skills: Advanced knowledge of 3D math, including linear algebra, vector, and matrix math.
