About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Animation Director to join our growing development team at Rebellion. As a key member of our animation team, you will be responsible for leading the animation department and collaborating with other teams to bring our games to life.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage the animation department's performance and professional development through regular performance review cycles, providing constructive and actionable feedback.
- Lead the animation department with best practice people management techniques, fostering a positive and productive team environment.
- Collaborate with the Head of Art, Designers, Programmers, and Producers to balance creative vision with production realities, ensuring high-quality animations that meet the project's style and demands.
- Create high-quality, in-game animations to the highest standard, adhering to the project's artistic direction and technical constraints.
- Verify the quality of animation in the game and make improvements where necessary, ensuring a seamless gaming experience.
- Act as an active mentor and role model for the animation team, promoting morale and creating an atmosphere of creativity and enthusiasm.
Requirements
- Expert knowledge of Motion Capture, Motion Builder, Maya, 3DS Max, and Character Studio.
- Ability to animate realistic human motion with ease.
- Expert knowledge of rigging and skinning.
- Able to produce high-quality animation in various game engines, including Unreal.
- Extensive knowledge of the video game development process and production pipelines.
- Expert knowledge of best practice people management.
- Able to focus on own professional development and mentor individuals to develop skills and knowledge.
