Position Overview

The role of a Clinical Specialist in Pain involves a comprehensive assessment of patients' needs in relation to their personal objectives. This position requires the planning, management, and evaluation of both functional and psychological rehabilitation for individuals and groups. Regular reviews of care plans are essential, along with effective communication with the patient's general practitioner, providing guidance on ongoing management strategies and addressing flare-ups in collaboration with the patient.

Key Responsibilities

The Shropshire Pain Services adopts a personalized approach tailored to each service user. The successful candidate will engage in remote consultations and will be part of a multidisciplinary team comprising physiotherapists, nurses, and wellness practitioners who are dedicated to a biopsychosocial model of care for individuals experiencing persistent pain. We seek a well-organized Clinical Specialist in Pain to provide exceptional clinical care for patients suffering from chronic pain. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and diagnoses of patients with diverse physical and emotional challenges.
  • Formulating, implementing, reviewing, and advancing individualized treatment plans.
  • Ensuring effective treatment delivery, specialist guidance, and timely patient discharge.

We are dedicated to fostering a multi-professional workforce based on competency and encourage applications from Physiotherapists, Nurses, and Occupational Therapists. Candidates should hold registration with an appropriate professional body and ideally possess qualifications in Pain Management.
