About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team at GLASDON LTD. As a key member of our purchasing and stock control functions, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock Management: Control a multi-million-pound stock holding across multiple warehouse facilities.
  • Supplier Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with a wide range of suppliers within the UK and overseas manufacturing sectors.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible prices and terms.
  • Inventory Planning: Collaborate with the in-house supply chain team to develop and implement effective inventory planning strategies.
  • Day-to-Day Support: Provide day-to-day support to the Purchasing and Stock Control departments.
  • Inter-Departmental Liaison: Liaise with all departments within the company to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Demand Forecasting: Analyze sales data and market trends to forecast demand and optimize inventory levels.
  • Commercial Systems: Process purchasing requisitions and manage stock using an in-house commercial system.
Requirements
  • Education: University Degree (2.1 or above) in a relevant field.
  • CIPS Qualification: CIPS qualified or willing to undergo study support towards a CIPS qualification.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, self-motivated, confident, and proactive, commercially aware, effective team player, knowledge of the supply chain process, familiar with commercial computer systems, good IT, literacy, numerical, and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
