Job Title: Senior Procurement Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Manager to join our team at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a vital role in shaping our procurement strategy and ensuring the effective management of our procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy that aligns with the Trust's business objectives.
  • Manage and oversee a team of procurement professionals to ensure the effective delivery of procurement services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for the Trust.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement regulations and policies, including the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including tendering, contract management, and supplier performance.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to procurement team members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that procurement activities are aligned with the Trust's overall business objectives.
Requirements:
  • MCIPS qualification and current membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply.
  • Demonstrable experience of working at a senior level in a procurement environment, leading teams and developing procurement strategies.
  • Specialist knowledge of professional procurement principles and contract management.
  • Experience of managing and maintaining a contract management or procurement system.
  • Significant experience of contract negotiations and influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically, with a strong understanding of commercial issues and purchasing methods.
  • Advanced IT skills, including knowledge of specialist software for contract management, electronic catalogue, and e-procurement systems.
