About the Position

We are excited to present an opportunity for a Cost Estimator to become a part of our Rail division, focusing on a Civils Reactive Maintenance Contract. This role is essential in delivering significant projects that contribute to the infrastructure landscape.

The position entails engaging with various frameworks associated with Network Rail, encompassing activities such as concrete restoration, drainage solutions, ground stabilization, track enhancements, and structural modifications. You will be responsible for executing intricate tasks that are vital to our operations and will play a key role in major infrastructure initiatives.

The position provides flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options and the possibility of part-time work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial aspects related to infrastructure projects, with a focus on identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Assist senior team members in executing diverse commercial responsibilities, including procurement and supply chain management.
  • Enhance commercial performance through meticulous cost management and value optimization, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Foster commercial relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support adherence to the Gated Business Lifecycle process.
  • Utilize the company's ERP and BMS systems effectively.
  • Maintain a Personal Development Plan to ensure continuous growth.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or holding a BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in infrastructure projects, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to success.

Desirable Attributes:

  • An organized, innovative, and creative approach to Quantity Surveying.
  • Previous experience in cost management and value maximization.
  • Familiarity with financial and commercial oversight within projects.
  • Experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Collaborative experience within commercial teams.
  • Membership or progress towards RICS accreditation.
  • A strong track record of meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of work.
