About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Site Manager to join our Control Period 7 (CP7) enhancements portfolio in the Wales & Western region. As a Senior Site Manager, you will be responsible for delivering several new stations located in West Devon, Somerset, and Gloucestershire, alongside a series of Access for All (AfA) projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Ensure that you and your team live by the Octavius values and hold the Site/Project team to account for adhering to these values.
  • Contract Management: Manage the contract and agreed contract programme to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, company policies, and procedures, including the Octavius and customers' Governance process.
  • Health and Safety: Firmly adopt and embrace the principle that all personnel should go home safe every day.
  • Process Improvement: Meet teams and provide guidance and advice on correct processes both on and off site, ensuring that only processes that add value to customers and personnel are employed.
  • Financial Management: Understand the project's financial position through regular and robust reviews with the commercial team of CVCs and Cost Plans.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Good all-round rail, CDM, and engineering knowledge with relevant experience in suitable disciplines, such as Temporary works, Civils, M&E, Geotechnical, and/or rail disciplines like permanent way, signaling, telecoms, and E&P.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills, with the ability to manage actions simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality.
  • Experience of working with a tier one contracting group on Rail infrastructure projects, including station redevelopments, new builds, or Access for All schemes.
  • Personal responsibility in managing projects up to £15 million.
  • SMSTS competence.
  • CSCS card.
  • PTS and other identified training.
  • Good level of IT skills.
  • Good level of programming and Conditions of contract (NEC, ICE, etc) knowledge.
