Lead IT Infrastructure Specialist

Compensation: GBP – up to £45,000

Role Summary

In the capacity of Lead IT Infrastructure Specialist, you will assume full responsibility for all IT functions at the designated site, while also collaborating with the broader IT department. There may be occasional requirements for remote assistance to other locations.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and capable of working autonomously to excel in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and resolve issues with industrial networking devices (switches/routers) and integrate them into the existing IT framework
  • Provide support for site-specific IT systems and work in conjunction with enterprise IT support teams
  • Adhere to IT Service Management (ITSM) protocols, including asset management, change management, incident management, request fulfillment, problem management, and project management to uphold service standards
  • Install, configure, and maintain hardware (PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers), operating systems, and productivity applications for end users
  • Deliver hardware support for PCs, operational technology systems, handheld scanners, printers, switches, wireless access points, and virtual machines
  • Annually update and review the IT disaster recovery strategy in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Provide essential out-of-hours support, including on-call responsibilities and scheduled weekend work, while closely coordinating with facilities and maintenance teams, with occasional travel as necessary

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a comparable senior IT position
  • Proficiency in Windows Operating Systems (versions 7-11)
  • Experience in supporting and troubleshooting a variety of hardware, including networked and non-networked PCs, operational technology systems, handheld scanners, printers, switches, wireless access points, virtual machines, uninterruptible power supplies, research and development labs, and mobile devices
  • Expertise in resolving issues related to wired and wireless networks and server maintenance
  • Ability to adapt to complex IT environments with multiple operating systems, networks, and devices
  • Strong customer service orientation, effective communication skills, and familiarity with IT Service Management (ITIL)
