Role Overview

This role is pivotal in advancing the strategic objectives of McCormick's Merchandising services, under the guidance of the UK Field Controller. The position entails overseeing a team of field-based merchandisers, ensuring compliance across retail environments, and maintaining the presence of the Schwartz and McCormick brands in various outlets.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead a high-performing team of up to 16 Merchandisers through regular one-on-one meetings, setting clear performance indicators, and adhering to McCormick's performance management protocols.
  • Conduct regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to ensure data accuracy, driving product availability and compliance across the team and retail locations.
  • Manage the allocated workforce in accordance with budgetary constraints, ensuring that service levels to retail partners are maintained through appropriate visit frequencies.
  • When necessary, execute order releases within the McCormick system.
  • Act as a liaison between retail environments and McCormick headquarters, addressing issues and providing timely feedback.
  • Uphold and exemplify McCormick's core values throughout the Merchandising services operation, collaborating closely with Human Resources to achieve this goal.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • A degree in business, operations, or management is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a management role within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving targets and objectives.
  • Experience in performance management is essential.
  • Ability to manage and support direct reports with HR-related matters with minimal escalation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all organizational levels, including senior management.
  • Capacity to adapt communication style to positively influence team performance.
  • Ability to coach and guide individuals to foster a high-performing team through clear objectives and vision.
  • Skill in influencing team members to deliver consistent results that meet and exceed business requirements.
  • Empower direct reports to make critical decisions, enhancing their capabilities and confidence.
  • Experience in managing remote teams is advantageous but not mandatory.
