Regional Marketing Lead for Growth Platforms

Location: Haddenham, UK

In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Director of Growth Platforms for the EMEA region, spearheading the strategic direction for our Herbs, Spices, and Seasonings portfolio. Your primary responsibility will be to craft and execute a comprehensive three-year strategy that encompasses both product innovation and renovation. Collaborating closely with local marketing teams, you will pinpoint growth opportunities and work alongside cross-functional teams, including Commercialization, Insights, Design, Research & Development, Supply Chain, and Culinary, as well as external partners when necessary, to create scalable and effective plans that enhance McCormick's sales, market share, and profitability.

Insights & Analytics:

  • Utilize ongoing business analytics to evaluate category and new product development performance across the EMEA landscape.
  • Act as the consumer insights authority for your designated focus areas, leveraging current consumer trends and research.
  • Collaborate with the Insights & Analytics team to transform data and research into actionable insights, identifying opportunities for category innovation and renovation.
  • Support post-evaluation of new product development and renovation with actionable insights, integrating learnings into future strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver regular business presentations to key stakeholders and senior leadership across local markets and regional and global teams.

Strategic Planning:

  • Lead the formulation of a three-year strategy for Herbs, Spices, and Seasonings, shaping the product pipeline and activation plans for your areas while contributing to the annual EMEA regional brand strategies.
  • Oversee the development and execution of innovation and renovation initiatives through all stages, ensuring stakeholder alignment throughout the process.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly global innovation updates for senior leadership.
  • Support sustainability initiatives to meet corporate goals.
  • Serve as the key regional representative for your portfolio, coordinating with global teams as necessary.

Commercial Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for achieving set innovation targets with profit and loss responsibilities.
  • Engage in product lifecycle management, driving efficiencies through simplification.
  • Collaborate closely with category management, sales, and omnichannel representatives to define optimal channel strategies.

Leadership and Team Development:

  • Manage a team of two experienced professionals, empowering them to lead their respective areas and maximize their potential.
  • Oversee workload and priorities for the team, balancing resources as necessary.
  • Effectively manage short-term priorities alongside long-term objectives.
  • Exhibit active listening and collaboration with key stakeholders, determining appropriate action plans and influencing teams to align with priorities.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Demonstrated success in FMCG innovation and brand-building at a relevant level.
  • Strong line management experience, fostering team growth and development.
  • Data-driven and analytical mindset, proficient in utilizing tools such as Nielsen, Kantar, and Google Trends for analysis.
  • Comprehensive marketing experience, understanding the broader context and influence of various marketing strategies.
  • Consumer-focused approach, prioritizing consumer insights from market research and trends data.
  • Expertise in new product development and renovation, with a clear vision for category growth.
  • Ownership mentality, treating your area as a business and actively engaging in its growth.
  • Strong project leadership skills, adept at managing multiple projects and prioritizing effectively.
