Care and Support Worker for Dynamic Individual

About the Role

UKCIL is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting an individual with complex health needs, including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), and other conditions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Support with domestic tasks, such as laundry and meal preparation
  • Accompany the individual to appointments, shopping, and community activities
  • Provide administrative support, including correspondence and phone calls

Requirements

  • Warm and friendly demeanor
  • Ability to use own initiative and work independently
  • Encouraging and supportive attitude towards maintaining independence
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to changing needs
  • Good understanding of the English language and excellent communication skills

Desirable Qualifications

  • Care experience
  • Driver's license and access to a vehicle

About the Individual

The individual is a registered blind person with a dynamic and varied lifestyle. They enjoy activities such as gardening, animal care, and creative pursuits. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with animals and able to adapt to the individual's changing needs.

Working Hours and Pay

67 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate of £12.00. The successful candidate will be required to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
