Job Title: Senior Crisis Care Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Crisis Care Practitioner to join our Norfolk 111 Mental Health Option Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing 24/7 crisis support to individuals in need.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Answering calls from service users and professionals, providing empathetic and informed support
  • Triage and assessment of callers, ensuring effective risk management and safety planning
  • Documentation of interactions, including referrals and notes, to ensure seamless communication with other teams
  • Liaison with other professionals and teams to ensure comprehensive support for service users
  • On occasion, creating formulations and plans for regular callers, promoting long-term recovery and well-being
  • Leading on champion subjects, such as Learning Disability, Youth, Drug & Alcohol, Perinatal, and more, through training, knowledge sharing, and conference attendance
  • Shadowing other teams to enhance skills and knowledge, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement
  • Brief intervention over the phone, where appropriate, to support service users in crisis
  • Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and outcomes

You will also have opportunities to co-coordinate shifts, provide clinical oversight and support to practitioners, and contribute to staff development and training initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Nursing degree or equivalent, Dip OT, Clinical Psychology, or equivalent mentorship qualification or ENB 998
  • Ongoing professional development working towards degree level
  • Higher degree or post-graduate certificate in area of clinical/therapeutic practice
Experience:
  • Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of knowledge of mental health practice from previous experience
  • Demonstrate effective risk assessment and risk management experience
  • Experience in supporting service development
