Job Summary:

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a Community Coordinator - Operational Role to join our team. As a Community Coordinator, you will be responsible for supervising work groups of offenders serving a community sentence. You will work with service users to ensure that all tasks are carried out to the best of their ability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise work groups of offenders serving a community sentence
  • Work with service users to ensure that all tasks are carried out to the best of their ability
  • Conduct dynamic risk assessments to ensure all hazards are noted and managed
  • Maintain all service users' records in accordance with organisational requirements
  • Work towards accreditation as a workplace assessor or deliver training assessments for selected service users
  • Contribute towards promoting Community Payback with colleagues, external agencies, Sentencers and the public

Requirements:

  • Evidence of commitment to team work
  • Effective inter-personal skills with the ability to supervise people constructively while maintaining authority
  • Evidence of problem-solving within a workplace or similar environment
  • Knowledge of safety at work, public protection and risk of harm in all aspects of work
  • Driving Licence – Category D1 Minibus

Desirable Qualifications:

  • BASIC knowledge of First Aid and willingness to undertake further training
  • To attain IOSH L3 or equivalent and a willingness to attend further training
  • Driving Licence
  • Willing to achieve and maintain L3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) or equivalent

Working Arrangements:

The Ministry of Justice offers Hybrid Working arrangements where business need allows. This is an informal, non-contractual form of flexible working that blends working from your base location, different MoJ sites and / or from home.

Annual Leave:

Annual leave is 25 days on appointment and will increase to 30 days after five years' service, plus public holidays. Leave for part-time and job share posts will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.

Pension:

The National Probation Service is covered by the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) run through the Greater Manchester Pension Fund (GMPF).
