Job Title: Lead Mass Properties Engineer

Key Responsibilities: Gather and analyze mass property data for systems and equipment to ensure effective weight and centroid management on high-value submarine projects. Assist the Mass Properties Lead in compiling weight and centroid reports, presenting findings to senior engineering leadership. Work closely with design engineers to accurately assess mass, centroid, and design readiness of various mechanical and electronic systems. Maintain an extensive database detailing mass properties of components. Contribute to and spearhead weight reduction initiatives while tracking weight-related risks and opportunities across disciplines. Analyze CAD models to estimate mass properties, accounting for uncertainties. Employ statistical methods to provide a comprehensive overview of weight risks and opportunities to senior management and stakeholders. Required Skills and Experience:

Essential Degree in a STEM field or substantial relevant experience. Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Incorporated Engineer (IEng) status, or a clear path to achieving professional accreditation. Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Desirable Experience with large-scale, intricate Electrical or Mechanical systems. Background in data analysis, including interpretation, visualization, manipulation, and presentation. Familiarity with CAD software and related programs. Benefits:

About the Weight Engineering Team:

The Weight Engineering Team comprises a diverse group of Engineers and Data Scientists dedicated to estimating, compiling, and presenting mass properties data for several high-value submarine projects. This specialized team plays a crucial role in the overall design and safety assurance of the submarine. We provide relocation support packages for eligible candidates across all submarine roles.
