Position Summary
We are seeking a qualified Control and Instrumentation Engineer (preferably chartered) with a minimum of 10 years of experience to lead our Instrument & Control Engineering Team.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and guide the Instrument & Control Engineering Team.
  • Delegate tasks to engineers and designers effectively.
  • Develop scopes of work and estimates to support project proposals.
  • Ensure delivery of engineering design within budget and timelines.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and external vendors.
  • Act as the design authority for all Instrument & Control matters.
  • Review and approve design calculations, specifications, data sheets, reports, and drawings according to British and International Standards.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable codes and engineering practices.
  • Provide specialized design input for 3D models.
  • Conduct technical analysis of proposals from equipment manufacturers and contractors.
  • Interpret drawings and information from vendors and other disciplines.
  • Participate in safety, risk, planning, model, and constructability reviews.
  • Identify and communicate scope changes as necessary.
  • Adhere to Company Quality Management Systems.
  • Perform other professional duties as required.
Essential Skills:
  • Experience in Heavy Engineering, Chemical, Petrochemical, or Oil & Gas industries is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Instrument & Control, particularly in high-hazard process industries.
  • Relevant Technical Engineering Degree and preferably a Chartered Engineer status.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Capability to assign work to design staff and monitor progress to meet project requirements.
  • Experience in both design office and operational plant settings.
  • Comfortable interacting with clients and vendors at all business levels.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiar with AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of ATEX regulations and equipment for hazardous areas.
  • Experience in Functional Safety, ideally holding a relevant qualification.
