Role Summary
We are seeking a qualified Control and Instrumentation Engineer, ideally chartered, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Control and Instrumentation Engineering Team.
- Oversee and delegate tasks to engineers and designers.
- Develop scopes of work and estimates to support project proposals.
- Ensure the delivery of engineering design within budget and schedule.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, clients, and package vendors.
- Act as the design authority for all instrumentation and control projects.
- Prepare, review, and approve design calculations, specifications, data sheets, reports, and drawings in accordance with British and International Standards.
- Monitor compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and client standards.
- Provide specialized design input for 3D models.
- Conduct technical analyses of proposals from equipment manufacturers and contractors.
- Interpret drawings and information from vendors and other disciplines.
- Participate in safety, risk, planning, model, and constructability reviews.
- Identify and report scope changes.
- Adhere to Company Quality Management Systems.
- Perform other professional duties as required.
- Experience in Heavy Engineering, Chemical, Petrochemical, or Oil & Gas Industries is preferred.
- At least 10 years of experience in instrumentation and control, particularly in high-hazard process industries.
- Relevant Technical Engineering Degree and preferably a Chartered Engineer status.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Proficient in task allocation and progress monitoring to meet project requirements.
- Experience in both design office and operational plant settings.
- Strong communication skills to engage with clients and vendors at all levels.
- Proficient in MS Office and familiar with AutoCAD.
- Knowledge of ATEX regulations and equipment for hazardous areas.
- Experience or qualifications in Functional Safety is advantageous.
