Job Overview

EC&I Partners Limited is seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Control Specialist to join our Maintenance team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation and reliability of our terminal control and safety systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical instructions for new systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Execute safety-critical equipment routines, including installation, checks, and precautions, to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure that all contractors working on-site comply with our site safety rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and report on consumable stock levels, ensuring timely replenishment and minimizing downtime.
  • Record inspections, defects, and repairs on our site maintenance control forms, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Complete scheduled maintenance activities, including instrument calibrations, tank gauging calibrations, cause and effect testing, SIF proof testing, and F&G calibrations and routine testing.
  • Supervise external calibrations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage calibration of test equipment, ensuring it is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Provide instrumentation engineering support and fault finding to ensure operational performance of plant is optimized.
Other Accountabilities
  • Ensure adherence to our UK policy and procedure on site security.
  • Provide input to various audits carried out on the terminal, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Assist with terminal emergency response, as detailed in our emergency plan.
  • Provide input on method statements, risk assessments, and identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure all amendments to terminal drawings and documentation are redlined and issued for update.
  • Attend HAZOP meetings, when requested, and complete relevant actions.
  • Assist with Site Acceptance Testing and commissioning activities.
  • Participate in safety audits and safety observation rounds.
  • Assist with data collection for maintenance and alarm management KPI reporting.
Requirements
  • HNC/NVQ or equivalent in Instrument Engineering discipline or time-served apprenticeship.
  • CompEx Units Ex 01 to 04 (Electrical).
  • BS7671 18th Edition.
  • Safety Instrumented System awareness.
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and DCS.
  • 5+ years' experience working within a Petrochemical/chemical industry as an E&I technician.
  • Installation of small-bore tubing assemblies.
  • Computer literate, including the use of Microsoft Office suite.
  • IPAF 3A & 3B.
  • PASMA mobile tower erection.
  • Working at Heights.
