Position Overview

Our esteemed client is in search of a Control Systems Technician to enhance their team, contributing to both ongoing projects and the routine management of their operational assets.
In this role, you will engage in preventive maintenance and troubleshooting tasks, working closely with supervisors, engineers, and fellow technicians to resolve operational challenges, oversee permit applications, and uphold the safety and efficiency of essential equipment.
A solid technical foundation in the chemical or process industries, particularly within COMAH environments, is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities of the Control Systems Technician:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and manage permit applications.
  • Develop method statements and risk assessments.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify problems, and implement solutions within specified timeframes.
  • Oversee the maintenance of safety-critical systems.
  • Calibrate, inspect, and modify instrumentation across the facility.
  • Document maintenance activities in the CMMS.
  • Assume supervisory duties during absences and provide holiday cover as needed.

Qualifications Required:
  • Completion of an ONC and a recognized Level 3 apprenticeship or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with ATEX and DSEAR regulations, with prior experience in the Chemical or downstream Oil & Gas sectors or similar high-risk process industries.
  • Possession of CompEX certification Ex01 to Ex04.
  • Understanding of Distributed Control Systems.
  • Experience in installation and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of 18th edition electrical regulations.
