Carbon60 is in search of a proficient Control and Instrumentation Project Engineer to become a vital part of our client's expanding Thermal Business Unit.

Compensation:
£60 per hour, Inside IR35 via Umbrella

Security Clearance:
BPSS clearance required
Eligibility to work in the UK is essential for this role.
Candidates must be within a reasonable commuting distance for a hybrid work model of 3 days on-site.
Experience in Gas Storage, Hydrogen, and CCGT is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight:
Manage and supervise instrumentation and control projects from inception to completion, ensuring all objectives are achieved.

System Design & Execution:
Design and implement control systems, including DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems tailored for thermal energy initiatives.

Technical Assistance:
Offer technical support and troubleshooting for existing control systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure adherence to industry standards, regulations, and best practices throughout all projects.

Documentation Management:
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including specifications, schematics, and technical reports.

Team Collaboration:
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, project managers, and clients, to facilitate smooth project execution.

Financial & Schedule Oversight:
Monitor project budgets and timelines, making necessary adjustments to meet project goals.

Qualifications & Experience:

Educational Background:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related discipline.

Professional Experience:
At least 5 years of experience in control and instrumentation engineering within the thermal energy sector or a comparable field.

Technical Proficiency:
Skilled in DCS, PLC, and SCADA systems, with familiarity in relevant software tools and programming languages.

Regulatory Expertise:
Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and regulations related to thermal energy and control systems.

Analytical Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Communication Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.

Adaptability:
Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment.

Preferred Skills:

Certifications:
Professional certifications in control and instrumentation engineering are advantageous.

Project Management Experience:

Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools is beneficial.
